Our Story

Bee Fed Botanicals began with the simple desire to bring life back to a plain backyard, and ended up inspiring a blooming mission.

When our founder moved into a sunbaked, un-landscaped yard in USDA Zone 6, she saw not just a blank canvas, but a calling. Surrounded by manicured lawns and lifeless garden beds, she set out to create something different: a garden buzzing with bees, filled with native plants, and requiring as little fuss as possible. It had to be beautiful, but it also had to do something. As she learned more about the critical role of pollinators and how few modern landscapes support them, she knew she had to make a change in her own corner of the world.

A few seasons later, her curiosity sprouted into edible gardening. A tomato plant here, a basil sprig there, and before long, the small garden plot was feeding her family, and her creativity. She loved experimenting with new gardening techniques and using the harvest in everyday meals. As her garden grew, so did the questions from friends and coworkers: How do you grow that? Can you help me start something like this? What do I cook with it? Her passion turned into purpose.

Today, Bee Fed Botanicals helps others reclaim their outdoor spaces in Zone 6 as sources of joy, nourishment, and beauty with a purpose. Through pollinator- and edible-garden design, continuing education classes, and teaching others how to cook quick and healthy meals, our goal is to bring together the best of gardening and good eating, no green thumb required.

At its root, Bee Fed Botanicals wants to empower people to grow a little of what they eat, support the bees and pollinators that keep our ecosystems alive, and find meaning in the simple magic of the soil.

Because the future isn’t just lawns, it’s buzzing bees, fresh-picked herbs, and people savoring food they grew themselves, with a better understanding of the delicate dance between people, plants, and pollinators.
